Our Story
For centuries, the kimono has carried meanings far beyond clothing. From the refined elegance of Japanese ceremonial wear to the flowing silhouettes of ancient Chinese robes, it has stood as a universal symbol of presence, grace, and identity. To wear a kimono is to say: I am here.
At I AM HERE, we honor this timeless heritage while reimagining it for today. Our vision blends European fashion sensibilities with the sacred geometry of Balinese culture, where textiles are not only fabrics, but also bearers of ritual and belonging. In this meeting of worlds, the kimono becomes a bridge — between East and West, tradition and modernity, elegance and everyday life.
But our story is also rooted in a simple observation. In the world of hospitality, we were always surprised by the lack of imagination and quality in the robes offered to guests. Functional, perhaps — but rarely inspiring. We wanted to change that. We wanted to create garments that elevate the experience: more stylish, more vibrant, more alive. Pieces that carry the same ease as a beach cover-up, but with the refinement of a tailored garment. Something that feels as natural as stepping out of the ocean — yet adds an instant touch of elegance.
Every kimono is crafted in Bali, a place where art and spirituality are woven into daily existence. We work closely with local artisans and tailors, creating small, ethical batches that reflect both respect for craft and respect for the island we call home. Most of our designs are made from 100% cotton, chosen for its natural comfort, breathability, and authenticity. Occasionally, we experiment with other materials, but always with care, intention, and imagination.
Our signature Houndstooth Bali print captures this fusion perfectly: European elegance interlaced with the sacred Balinese grids used in ceremonial sarongs. It is both familiar and new — a pattern that carries the story of where we come from, and where we are going.
It is about presence. About wearing something that speaks, that tells a story, that holds a fragment of a place and a culture.

“I am here is not just a name. It’s a declaration. A compass. A way of living and creating. It’s for places that want to be remembered and for people who refuse to disappear in the crowd.”
